Michalis Attalides has wide European experience both in terms of study and career. He is currently the Rector and Professor in the Department of European Studies and International Relations at the University of Nicosia and holds the Jean Monnet Chair Ad Personam. He served as the ambassador of Cyprus to France, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom, as well as Permanent Representative to the European Union and as Representative to the European Convention. He studied in the UK and the United States and lectured at Leicester University. He has been a guest lecturer at the Free University of Berlin, and has written extensively on European Union issues, in both Greek and English. He currently teaches two courses on European Union issues, both together with younger members of the faculty.
His role in the project will be as the overall Coordinator, in charge of the Management Committee and will oversee all decisions taken with respect to the organization and implementation of all aspects of the project in coordination with the Academic Coordinators of each thematic area.
